Support your favorite Philly parks- all of them, at once!- just by grocery shopping!
Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, June 15 at the Callowhill and South Street Whole Foods Market stores where 5% of net sales will be donated to Fairmount Park Conservancy. This is wonderful news and will be a huge help to our park system! The Fairmount Park Conservancy plays an on-going role in supporting the park system in Philadelphia and donated our movie night this year.

June 2016 Meeting- Friends of Julian Abele Park

Jamz at Julian – June 8th

Join us for the Summer 2016 Music Series at Julian Abele Park!  The music series will feature a variety of musical acts and will occur on select Wednesdays in June, July and August. Shows will run from 6-8pm.

The first show will be Wednesday, June 8th at 6PM.  There will be live performances by Maurice Authentic Hayman, KeeKee Ross, Mike Troutman, Milton Jones, Jonathan Edwards and his awesome band, powerful poet The Deaconess, Djladyjai Hamiel, DJ Smoove on the 1’s and 2’s, and giveaways and more!

The Friends of Julian Abele Park are happy to present our FIRST movie night, ever! We have been selected as a venue as part of a generous grant from The Fairmount Park Conservancy.This presentation is supported by the Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation.

Event Programming: Philadelphia Parks

FYI Event Programming/Permitting in Philadelphia Parks

The Friends of Julian Abele Park, in addition to bearing primary responsibility for cleaning, maintaining and improving the park, also sponsors/presents events in the park. We do these to fundraise and support those activities as well as to further our community mission to bring neighbors together in an outdoor greenspace to meet and to interact with each other, neighborhood social groups, and businesses. We do not issue event permits and are required to adhere to the same permitting requirements as any other group wishing to have an event in a Philadelphia park. This has been an issue in the past with all city-owned and -operated parks and is why the city developed a standard for all events.
