Meetings & Membership

The Friends of Julian Abele Park officially meet eight (8) times a year. Meetings are generally held on the 1st Tuesday of the month, at SOSNA, 1901 Christian Street, starting at 7pm.

MEMBERSHIP AND COMMUNITY REPRESENTATION

General membership is open to all people of all ages – with emphasis on those neighbors residing in the areas bound by the Schuylkill River to the West, South Street to the North, Broad Street to the East and Washington Avenue to the South. However, to be a voting member you must be 18 years old and a registered volunteer who either:

  • attends 50% of FRIENDS of JULIAN ABELE PARK meetings, or
  • attends 25% of FRIENDS OF JULIAN ABELE PARK meetings and
    • actively participates in three officially scheduled PARK clean-ups in a given year, or
    • actively participates in (8) hours of PARK clean-ups in a given year, or
    • contributes 12 hours of service to the Park, which must be recorded by the Secretary

And,

  • Contributes $20 per year membership dues (payments are due on April 1st of each calendar year, or upon joining).
